Endoscopy Medical Test

An endoscopy is a test that looks inside the body.  The endoscope is a long flexible tube that can be swallowed. Endoscopy can also refer to using a borescope in engineering and technical situations where direct line-of-sight observation is not feasible. It is a minimally invasive diagnostic medical procedure used to assess the interior surfaces of an organ by inserting a tube into the body. There are many types of endoscope, and they are named according to the organs or areas they explore. Endoscopy is the vehicle for minimally invasive surgery. Upper endoscopy enables the physician to look inside the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum. The procedure might be used to discover the reason for swallowing difficulties, nausea, vomiting, reflux, bleeding, indigestion, abdominal pain, or chest pain. Endoscopes may be used in conjunction with a camera or video recorder to document images of the inside of the joint or chronicle an endoscopic procedure.
