Electrocardiogram Medical TestElectrocardiographic tests are noninvasives tests which uses the electrocardiogram to evaluate the electrical activity generated by the heart at rest and with activity. The electrocardiogram does not directly assess the contractility of the heart. However, it can give a rough indication of increased or decreased contractility. It is used as a screening tool for ischemic heart disease during a cardiac stress test. An electrocardiogram is obtained by measuring electrical potential between various points of the body using a biomedical instrumentation amplifier.
